Love at First Scan is a locally and family-owned ultrasound studio operated by women. Our staff live here, most of us grew up here and raised our kids here. We cherish our families, and love watching other families grow. We say it’s a good day when a mom cries happy tears & a great day when dad is crying too! We want everyone to be comfortable here, we want you to bring family & friends, and we love it when it sounds like a holiday gathering in the scan room.

Everyone who works at our clinic is fully qualified, but they are also family people and love babies. We think this matters when we’re working with parents and babies everyday. We work here because we love sharing special moments with you. When you see images of your baby for the first time, we love to see the smile on your face. Our fully qualified sonographers and diagnostic medical sonographers are always happy to answer any questions and make you feel at ease. So here’s a little bit about our owners before we meet.
Julie grew up in Merrillville. She is a full time ARDMS/RVT Certified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with over 20 years experience. She is qualified in Level 2 Obstetrics and before she became a Sonographer, Julie had worked as a Phlebotomist and EMT (ever since she graduated high school). She has four daughters, two of which are adopted, and three grandchildren. She expects you to bring those babies back after they’re born, by the way. She can’t get enough baby time!
Jon grew up on the east coast, actually in Hershey, PA (it really does smell like chocolate all the time there). He’s in charge of making our popcorn, but normally stays on his side of the office and pretty much does what Julie wants. After all, someone has to clean the toilet! He moved here from Florida when he got out of the Navy after 8.5 years of service. Yes, from Florida. Moved here 4 months before the blizzard in 1998… from Florida… But he’s not bitter, because if he hadn’t come here he would have never met Julie! Jon works at NIPSCO and is active in the Union there. Jon has two sons and two daughters that delight him more every day.
